O 2 n Cloud Nine Conceptual Design Review Lea Harris, Ben Woeste, Ian Barry, Brodie Schulze, Caitlyn Cooke, Megan O’Sullivan, Sebastian-Johannes Lorenz 9/16/10 Fall 2010 Rev A
Mission Overview Our objective is to track Oxygen levels as a function of altitude, and take stereoscopic images from a high altitude platform. We will have two data collection systems, one qualitative, one quantitative. Stereoscopic camera system offer qualitative data about cloud presence and structure of clouds O 2 Sensor will provide the Quantitative information about the composition of the atmosphere By doing this we expect to find a trend between the levels of oxygen, and the formation and type of clouds. We are doing this to further our understanding of the composition of the atmosphere and how it relates to the formation of clouds.
Design: The unique feature about our satellite is the stereoscopic imaging system Will get two snap of the same scene from different viewpoints. Images can be rendered into an animated gif to give an idea of depth. Using a stereoscopic viewer, the pictures can also be seen in 3D
