Web Site Updates NASA Ames currently “owns” the following domain names: –ceos.org –igospartners.org –ibgp.net These were registered via registrar Direct Domain (Approx. $20 USD each per year) –All paid via the NASA NREN credit card –Probably about 1.5 years into a 2 year agreement

Web Site Updates 2 Top-level DNS (SOA) is done by NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) for coes.org: –ceos.orgceos.org web requests go to host at JAXA –ceos.org mail exchanges (MX) go to host at Goddard Space Flight Center (currently) –wgiss.ceos.org web requests go to commercial host (Apollo Hosting)

Apollo Hosting Services Apollo Hosting is the “new” web and mail service. Apollo provides services such as: –Web – –Mailing-list –(but not DNS)

“Responsibilities” WGISS chair is responsible for the “WGISS Only” pages (e.g. Sub-group leaders are responsible for their sub-group pages, and ensuring Task Team Leaders fulfill their obligations. Task Team Leaders are responsible for currency and content of their web site or pages.

Proposed content management (preliminary) Each Task Team will have a login for their website –e.g. has a login –e.g. has a separate loginhttp://att.ceos.org –e.g. UPDATE!!!

Suggested Process for Page Updates Retrieve recent copy of web page –Either locally saved or via FTP from WWW server –Save local backup copy Make changes and edits –Examine locally via browser Publish (or copy) back to WWW server –Verify new upload via WWW server Notify appropriate chair of changes –Chair should examine and validate changes

Technical Support POC Currently, if problem occurs, contact us –This could change… I am responsible for producing a “How-to” of this process, for distribution to users.

Mailing Lists (listserv) Mail to now works: –Was broken until recent, had to use Current list services are currently hosted by eos.nasa.gov (at GSFC) via Majordomo. This will move to Apollo’s mailing list setup (Web admin vs. Majordomo).

Mail Group Names The group names should change to better reflect the group names. could include and include wgiss- will include task-team lists such as and and wgiss- Group moderators can be the group Chairs and can administer groups via to server (I think…) Instructions regarding the administration of the lists will be mailed at time of list creation…

Lists to be transferred –ceos-wgiss –ceos-wgcv –ceos-cii –wgiss-ttl –wgiss-subgroups (wgiss-sg) –wgcv-subgroups Lists that need clarification –ceos-cts Mail List Creation and Maintenance List to be renamed –ceos-att -> wgiss-att –ceos-grid -> wgiss-grid –ceos-ntt -> wgiss-ntt –ceos-witt -> wgiss-witt Lists to be deleted –ceos-as –ceos-ds –ceos-ns –ceos99-net –apan-em-net * Mail list for each task team will be created, but it is up to the task team lead to provide the addresses to be included on each list. Mail list name will be wgiss-xxx (task team abbreviation)
