Every veterinary hospital staff consists of a team of caring individuals, each contributing his or her unique abilities to ensure high quality veterinary care for animals and compassionate interactions with animal owners. Depending on the size of the hospital, the team may employ from three to more than 30 people but, regardless of size, dedication of service remains TOP priority.

VETERINARY PRACTICE MANAGER Responsible for managing business functions of the practice. Duties can include Personnel hiring and supervision Budget and inventory management Accounting Marketing Developing recordkeeping and other business standards for practice

VETERINARY ASSISTANT Supports the veterinarian and/or the technician in daily tasks. Kennel work Assist in restraint and handling Feed and exercise animals Clerical duties Cleaning Must have a strong stomach!

RECEPTIONIST The FIRST and LAST person client will see They are the “Life Blood” of the records The interactions he or she has with a client can determine how the client perceives the quality of medicine services being offered. NEEDS to have excellent communication skills Be able to handle a variety of questions and requests from clients and the public Duties: Setting appointments Responding to inquiries about hospital services Greeting clients Handle fee payments, billing, daily cash records Managing callbacks Triage Receptionist may also perform Accounting, Marketing Client counseling duties Handling medical records Assisting veterinarian or technician when necessary
