Physical Indicators. Color: Grayish White Streak: Grayish White Hardness:3.5 Cleavage/Fracture: Does not have Cleavage/Fracture is jagged. Density: 21.45GxCm -3 to the third power.

Composition/Location. Platinum is pure substance, it is an element on the periodic table.

Location. The Element is located in Earth’s Crust and is Mainly Found in South Africa. It Is not found in USA.

Platinum: Processed Platinum can be processed a variety of ways. Since it is denser than many of the elements it's commonly found with a water bath will often wash many of these elements away. Platinum is non-magnetic, so magnets can be used to remove iron and nickel. Platinum also has a very high melting point, so often unwanted elements can be burned or melted away. ~ processed

Money in weight OZ: $1000-$2000 per ounce G: $52.95 per gram Tons: $59,903,300.5 per metric ton KG: $70,000 per kilogram

Platinum uses. Platinum is used as a catalytic converter in chemical reactions. It is also used in making laboratory equipments such as funnels, tongs and crucibles among many others. Platinum is one the rare element that can be found on the earth's crust, and it has six known naturally occurring isotopes. ~ used-for Also Made for Jewelry.

Platinum Appearances

What is a gemstone? Why aren't all minerals gems? The difference between gemstones and the rest of the minerals is that gemstones are crystalline forms of minerals. If you look at the microscopic view of a gemstone's or any crystal's structure, you will see that it is a unique, organized structure. Not all minerals have this structure. ~ gemstones_while_others_aren't.
