CAD-RMS Training v4.11

PREMIER CAD intuitively selects which vehicle to dispatch based on the vehicle’s…  Capabilities and whether it fits the needs of the emergency,  Station location and “pecking order” for each fire zone in the CAD system

 Obtaining a fire vehicle recommendation and defining vehicle capabilities is controlled in the following databases:  Fire/EMS Vehicles (MN.22) (see page 7-23)  Incident Responses (MN.24) (see page 6-3)  Incident Types (MN.11) (see page 5-5)  Agency Parameters (MN.25) (see page 3-1)  Fire Run Cards (MN.21) (see page 6-24) Fire vehicle capabilities / incident response time Incident Type

 How the databases work together to recommend the best fire vehicle option. Incident Type structure fire (FSTRU) Incident Type structure fire (FSTRU) Location 2501 Great Wolf Dr Great Wolf Lodge Location 2501 Great Wolf Dr Great Wolf Lodge

 Within PREMIER CAD, incident types and response types are closely associated.  The Incident Types Configuration (MN.11 shown above) database form contains a field used to attach a response type to an incident type. When an incident is initiated, PREMIER CAD automatically searches for a response type associated with this incident. 1. PREMIER CAD searches the Incident Types database for ‘FSTRU’ 2. Premier CAD determines the Agency Type (fire) Response Type (SF) Category (2) 2. Premier CAD determines the Agency Type (fire) Response Type (SF) Category (2) 3. Premier CAD determines the agency type (F for fire)

 PREMIER CAD refers to the Incident Response Configuration (MN.24) database to recommend the appropriate equipment for this incident type.

 PREMIER CAD looks up the location of the FSTRU in the geofile to retrieve the fire zone for this address.

 PREMIER CAD uses the fire zone to access information in the Fire Run Cards Configuration (MN.21) database.  This database reveals whether there is a response classification for this particular zone and the sequence of stations to search for the required response.

 PREMIER CAD checks the following databases:  Locations (MN.3),  Alarms (MN.5),  Intersections (MN.4),  Street Segment (MN.1),  Beats (MN.7),  Common Place (MN.2) for information about 2501 Great Wolf Dr.  If a response classification for a single address exists in these files, it supersedes the response type assigned to the zone.  For this example, a classification of “MDJ” is assigned to Zone 5158 and also the address of 2501 Great Wolf Dr.

 PREMIER CAD next determines the quantity and types of apparatus that should respond.  If the required response is 3E, 1TO, 1RT, etc, the codes could be defined to mean “send 3 engines, 1 Tower, and 1 RIC.”

 Based on address, CAD determined Zone  CAD then looks in the Run Card database for Zone 5158 to determine the station search order.  Based on Incident Type (FSTRU), CAD determined a “SF” Response Type.  CAD checks Location Menu (MN.3) and finds Response Class of “MDJ” for this address.  CAD looks in Response Type database to determine the quantity and type of capability to recommend.  Below is the Location Lookup (LU) that puts everything above together to show an example of a CAD recommendation to a Structure Fire at Great Wolf Lodge.
