Timeline 321 B.C.E.- Chandragupta Mauryana founds Mauryan Empire 202 B.C.E.- Liu Bang establishes China’s Han Dynasty 65 C.E.- Buddhism spreads to China 220 C.E.- Han Dynasty falls 320 C.E.- Gupta Empire forms in India and encourages a renewal of Hindu faith

Unification Both Mauryan and Gupta Empire temporarily unified India. The Mauryan Empire was based on Buddhism and it’s values; they based their decisions off of Buddhist teachings. Indian culture thrived during the Gupta Empire. Neither unified India permanently. Diversity of peoples and cultures in India continue to pose a threat to Indian unity.
