Offline week meetings CERN – June 25, 2009 CAF user experience Maria Nicassio (INFN Bari)

 When  started in summer 2008 when I joined the First Physics task force  Why  to check the First Physics samples  several problems spotted and solved  to have big samples and short computing time for SPD dN ch /d  analysis (however preliminary/complementary studies/checks done privately since ITS recpoints needed for my studies)  Where  from lxplus  What  AliAnalysisTaskSPDdNdEta (committed in AliRoot)  task to carry out checks on First Physics samples Maria Nicassio (INFN Bari) Offline week meetings - CERN June 25, Access MC and ESD

Maria Nicassio (INFN Bari) Offline week meetings - CERN June 25, 2009  Main problems I had:  initial problem with First Physics data samples -> ok nov 2008  my alien username my lxplus one -> ok  very useful but hard to run on the last large samples (LHC09a4)  system often hanging up last summer when experts on holiday  Good things :  more and more stable  prompt technical support (thanks to Marco, Jan Fiete and Proof developers)  web pages and tutorial material exhaustive 3
