Draft STIP - Project Summary

13 Footnote: Excludes CMAQ projects, Division Purchase Order Contracts, Statewide Holdouts, GARVEE or Bond Paybacks, Highway Fund Bridges, STP-DA Funds and Reflects 108 of the major Transition projects

14 Lessons Learned Overall, a good mix and quality of projects selected The Pn.0 Work Group seems to be an effective way to bring consensus to the prioritization models Many of the corridor and modal caps played an important role

15 Lesson Learned (Con’t) Cascade capability gave local interests a vehicle to support local priorities Due to process transparency, Divisions, MPO’s and RPO’s seemed to figure out quickly how to maximize the impact of their local input points Many good projects fell just outside budget limits

16 Lessons Learned (Con’t) Suggested Areas for Improvement : Toll cap either needs to be raised or eliminated Program stability needs to be addressed (Work Group is studying this issue) Need to develop a time effective way to match federal discretionary funds Need to develop a process to complete partially built projects

Next Steps Draft STIP Released at December NCBOT Meeting STI site on NCDOT.gov Electronic Document – 14 separate, searchable PDFs Each Division sorted by highway and non-highway “SW” or “REG” or “DIV” will indicate which STI category the project is funded from Interactive Map - Public Input Sessions – Spring 2015 Final STIP anticipated approval – June
