August What happened on a day like this? Early in the morning of August 13, 1961, the East German government closed the border between sectors of Berlin with barbed wire fence to discourage further population movement to the West. Telephone and postal services were interrupted. Later in the week a concrete wall was built to strengthen the barrier between the official crossing points. The dismantling of the wall began on November 9, 1989.

Sentence- is a group of words that tells a complete thought. In order to tell a complete thought a sentence must tell who or what. It must also tell what is or what happens. For example: Mary is going on a vacation next summer. Lola vacation tonight.
