Tennis Katie Ridgeway

Why Tennis?  I started playing tennis with my Uncle the summer before entering my Sophomore year and that year I decided to try out and I made it.  I was a member of Perry Hall High School’s Mixed Varsity Tennis Team for 3 consecutive years.  It’s so important to have physical activity in your life, not only for your health but just as something fun to do. I enjoy this activity because it is very challenging and requires a large amount of hand-eye coordination. It also provides a source of exercise which is very important to have.  I love doing it!

Objectives  Show how important this sport is to me.  Present aspects of High School tennis:  The common brands – Wilson, Prince & Head  Actual statistics from my own high school, Perry Hall. As well as a weekly practice schedule.  Maybe get people to give tennis a try, it’s not for everyone.

Problems in creating my Project  Finding an appropriate Java Script that could represent Tennis.  Compiling data that worked well in Excel and that could be put into a chart.  My coach from Senior year purged our stats of individual players so I could not do my original idea for excel spreadsheet.

What I learned in doing this project…  That companies I originally thought only produced Tennis products, really market a full range of other sports, including football, golf, snow sports, etc…  Creating a website can actually be fun especially if it is based on something meaningful in your life.

What is on my website…  My Homepage  My Proposal  Excel Spreadsheet  Power Point  Major Tennis Companies  Java Script  Video (Mixed Doubles)  Go to My Site Go to My Site
