Eid Aladha ”Sacrifice Holiday” Is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God.

God provided a ram in place once Ibrahim demonstrated his willingness to follow God's commands. Eid al-Adha is the latter of two Eid festivals celebrated by Muslims, whose basis comes from the Quran.

When we celebrate Eid Aladha? Eid al-Adha annually falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijja of the lunar Islamic calendar.Eid al-Adha occurs the day after the pilgrims conducting Hajj.It happens to be approximately 70 days after the end of the month of Ramadan.

Traditions At the time of sacrifice, God's name is recited along with the offering statement and a supplication as Muhammad said. According to the Quran, the meat is divided into three shares, one share for the poor, one share for the relatives and neighbors and the last to keep to oneself.

Hanukkah is observed for eight nights, starting on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, and may occur from late November to late December on the Gregorian calendar.

Tradition The festival is observed by the kindling of the lights of a special candelabrum, the nine- branched Menorah or Hanukiah, one light on each night of the holiday, progressing to eight on the final night. An extra light called a shamash.The purpose of the extra light is to adhere to the prohibition, specified in the Talmud, against using the Hanukkah lights for anything other than publicizing and meditating on the Hanukkah story.The shamash is used to light the other lights.

The story Long ago in the land of Judea there was a Syrian king, Antiochus. The king ordered the Jewish people to reject their religion, their customs and their beliefs and to worship the Greek gods. There were some who did as they were told, but many refused. One who refused was Judah Maccabee.

Judah and his four brothers formed an army and chose as their name the word "Maccabee". After a period of fighting, the Maccabees were finally successful in driving the Syrians out of Israel and reclaimed the Temple in Jerusalem. When Judah and his followers finished cleaning the temple, they wanted to light the eternal light. Only a tiny jug of oil was found with only enough for a single day. The oil lamp was filled and lit. then a miracle occurred as the tiny amount of oil stayed lit not for one day, but for eight days.
