A Very Special Club in a unique location, relaxed atmosphere, wonderful heritage, and exciting sailing and friendly competition

: what are we doing to celebrate our 90th Birthday?

: This year’s 90th Birthday celebrations include Punt Open – with sail past of boats old and new Jubilee Weekend: Games & special Roaming Supper, Regatta Barn Dance at Cox’s Boatyard ( remember them?) Commemorative merchandise and Photo competition

Members survey: Conducted Oct 2015: Only 10 questions Good, representative response Clear results

Your survey said you wanted: Better facilities: especially the Loos

Your survey said you wanted: More social events etc: meals, Barn Dance, quiz nights, training

Members asked for : Better facilities: especially the Loos More social events etc: meals, Barn Dance, quiz nights, training But are we prepared to pay more?

....Apparently Yes!

So how much will it cost to keep the club afloat into its Centenary year 2026 ? Cost projections made over a 10 year planning horizon Improving facilities Replacing infrastructure and equipment with limited lifespan Needs ~£150k over the next 10 years

Some examples of where the money will be spent Comms Storage facilities New engines New Toilet system Reserves replenishment Other new equipment replacement rescue boats New raft bases ( 4 now+6 later) Replacement for Officers Box Loo interior refurbishment

£150k seems a lot... but its necessary to remain a viable club that retains members and continues to attract new joiners And we think its achievable

Your Committee has considered the funding options available and proposes to raise: £50k over 10 years through modest subscription increases regular fund raising from social/other events ( both current and new) new merchandise Find cost savings through improved maintenance programmes to extend life of rafts etc some ‘community build’ projects £100k by launching a ‘Centenary Fund’ for specific donations to be made into Ambition is to reach target within 12 months Starts today!

A Very Special Club in a unique location, relaxed atmosphere, wonderful heritage, exciting sailing and friendly competition We all know how special the Punt Club is...Please don’t let it fade away!

So please: Support the Club as best you can Join in and Celebrate our history this year and Ensure the Punt Club continues for another generation (...at least!) April 2016

Thanks for your attention! Special thanks to all the Committee and other members for their support in getting so much done over the last few months If you have any questions – please ask April 2016
