MOCK ACTION RESEARCH PROPOSAL PRESENTATION Erin Haynes Ashford University EDU 671 Dr. Newton Miller March 19, 2015

AREA OF FOCUS  Providing a more educated community that understand their rights and responsibilities involving motor vehicle insurance.  Providing an awareness of the advantages of the motor vehicle insurance policy.  Proving information through educating licensed drivers why they can’t afford to be caught without the proper motor vehicle insurance policy.

PROBLEM-INTEREST * The information model used to inform the public about motor vehicle insurance * Making the information available before a negative consequence. *The community may not listen because they have been told by licensed professionals that they have what they need. *Doing what my family has always done and not being receptive to new information.

POPULATION *Ages *Passengers *Pedestrians *Parents/of teen drivers * Potential drivers currently enrolled in a drivers education course.

BENEFIT Advantages to Driving Legally *If stopped your vehicle will not be subject to being impounded. *Your license will not be suspended *If you are in a collision you may avoid being personally sued.

BENEFIT Avoiding being misled by poor insurance practices *If in a collision and you have the best insurance policy options you will be covered regardless of who is at fault *You may avoid being sued do to a collision. Misinformed

INTERVENTION Advertising or providing useful information to the client when ever possible. Advertisements could be listing valuable information on the back of your business card when handing it to a client. Asking the number one question, when is the last time you modified your insurance policy?

LITERATURE REVIEW Know the most up to date State Motor Vehicle insurance requirements. That information can be found on the Department of Insurance Webpage Review the inserts from your motor vehicle insurance company when they mail your statement or bill. Review you vehicles insurance clause when purchasing a vehicle. You may be surprised at what you find out.

ETHICS Be sure not to use anyone’s personal experiences with providing information. Be mindful not to give advice if you are licensed but provide information that can be verified. Protect yourself from good intentions that can turn out to be ethically harmful.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS 1.Will I be able to provide enough valuable information that will make the community question if they have the best insurance coverage? 2.What will challenge people to see the value in purchasing a better insurance policy especially knowing it will cost them more money? 3.Will the consequences of not having good insurance policies be harmful enough that the community will seek to make better decisions.

DATA COLLECTION TOOL *Surveys *Questions and Answers *Statistics found from internal resources *Identifying number of positive outcomes because of the proper coverage
