Active Duty for Chapter 33 purposes means full-time duty in regular components of the Armed Forces or under a call to active duty under Title 10 U.S.C. 672(d), 688, 12301(a), 12301(d), 12301(g), 12302, Title 32 AGR for the purpose of organizing, administering, recruiting, instructing, or training, and under section 502(f) for the purpose of responding to a national emergency RJUN14

At private and foreign institutions, pays the actual net costs for in-state tuition and fees or $19, , whichever is less. On-the-job and apprenticeship training: Pays a monthly benefit amount prorated based on time in program. Flight programs: Per academic year, pays the actual net costs for in-state tuition and fees assessed by the school or $10, , whichever is less. This limit is applicable to flight programs at both IHLs and non-IHLs.
