U.S. 36 Bus Rapid Transit RTD Board Update December 1, 2015

U.S. 36 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) 18 miles of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) 6 stations—Table Mesa, McCaslin, Flatiron, Broomfield, Church Ranch, and Sheridan Jointly funded by RTD, Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Colorado High Performance Transportation Enterprise (HPTE) RTD’s early action BRT projects— completed in May 2010 U.S. 36 Express Lanes Phase I (Federal Blvd to 88th Street); opened June 22, 2015 U.S. 36 Express Lanes Phase II (88th Street to Table Mesa); opening early 2016

U.S. 36 Express Lanes/BRT – Progress Phase I (Federal Blvd to 88th Street) 100% complete Express lanes operation has gradually increased

U.S. 36 Express Lanes/BRT– Progress Phase I BRT canopies, Public Information Displays (PIDs) and windscreens installation is complete On-call contractor is in process of final station improvements All 59 branded buses received

U.S. 36 Express Lanes/BRT– Current Activities Phase I In-house design of station name and directional signs is complete In-house production and installation of signs is in progress Punch list walkthrough with RTD Facility Maintenance group is in progress

U.S 36 Express Lanes/BRT— Progress Phase II (88th Street to Table Mesa) Nearly 90% complete Diverged Diamond Interchange (DDI) traffic realignment— complete BRT ramps—complete

U.S 36 Express Lanes/BRT—Current Activities Phase II Traffic was switched to newly installed WB pavement Eastbound mainline paving is underway BRT stations completion—December 2015

U.S. 36 BRT Stations – Current Activities Programmatic BRT Coordination of civil work at BRT stations and security upgrades is underway Installation of Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs)—April 2016 Bus-on-shoulder operation—CDOT is moving forward to make legislative changes to permit bus on shoulder operations

U.S. 36 Express Lanes/BRT—Look Ahead 2015 Strategic public outreach—throughout year o Presentations to civic groups, media, PIOs, communities, etc. PR media/advertising rollout—November/December Ambassadors at BRT stations, pre-opening outreach— Dec , 22, Flatiron Flyer revenue service begins—Jan. 3 Ambassadors at BRT stations—Jan. 3-9 Flatiron Flyer free day—Jan. 4 Flatiron Flyer stations ribbon-cutting ceremonies and VIP party—Jan. 7
