Biggest challenge for ICT-enabled construction in the manufacturing industry: system integration  Numerous ICT-enabled systems, difficult to collaborate and integrate Office collaboration and service integration urgently await to be achieved in a convergent office solution. ICT-enabled construction varies according to manufacturing enterprises. Take a large manufacturing company X as an example. Company X has 7 business units and 30+ branches, and each branch has an independent information system. More than 30 application systems are being used in company X. Collaboration difficulty and operation complexity One employee has 6+ contact numbers that are mutually isolated and difficult to remember. Users have to dial different contact numbers and find the appropriate one when calling an employee who is out of the office. The communication means are mutually separated: user interfaces are inconsistent and functions are not interoperable. Huawei gateways comply with diverse signaling types to interwork with devices from NEC and Siemens.
