Early Priorities Mapping the Landscape – added value to existing bodies (NCS, Careers providers, LEA, NAS, Borough Councils) Labour Market Intelligence – understanding the opportunities available – key sectors, businesses etc. Teacher training – increasing understanding of the operating context and economy Marketing – promoting the range of opportunities available including apprenticeships to schools, young people and parents Governance – developing arrangements to bring together all parties to share experiences and learning System Navigation – providing access to a wide range of national and local resources and materials

Immediate Impact Schools Strategy – Economy and Enterprise Plans now in place, with appropriate resourcing Local Work Programme - gaps in provision identified and solutions developed via collaborative working Quality – rather than quantity – supporting activity that really adds value Mutual Understanding and Respect – the world of education and the world of work now know each other far better Feelgood Factor – an energy, buzz and excitement about the programme

Learning School resources – help schools to prioritise resource to manage ongoing engagement Messaging – need to communicate consistently with parents, governors, staff and partner organisations to support effective decision making Push hard – challenge the status quo and encourage creativity and innovation Academic versus vocational – press for parity Make it easy – all parties need an easier life – LEPs can do this Be Ambitious – a lot can be achieved with limited funding
