Your TU teacher will give you your Career Day Schedule. It is important that you follow your Career Day schedule all day. After lunch, students will report back to their TU class at 1:14pm.

Note Taking Strategies Get the speaker's main points. Don't write down every word you hear. Leave blanks in your notes to add explanations later. Organize as you write. Pay attention to cues such as repetition and emphasis. Indicate main and supporting points as you go. Jot down key vocabulary, important facts and formulas. Ask questions. If you're confused, it's better to ask questions while the material is fresh in your mind.

Asking the Right Questions Be prepared with questions you would like to ask the presenters. Review the handout “Ask the Right Question: Career Day 2012”. Use this as a guide to help you come up with your own questions to ask the presenters. Bring your questions on Career Day.

All students are expected to complete a Career Day evaluation during TU at 1:45- 2:25. Students will not be released to the to Pep-Rally until the evaluation form is completed and turned in to the TU teacher. It is important that students give honest opinions about their experience with Career Day. Let us know what you liked, did not like, and ways to improve Career Day. Please give specific details. Career Day Student Evaluations

Career Day Thank You Letters All students will be expected to write and turn in 2 Thank You Letters. These two letters will also fulfill a portion of your portfolio requirement. Make sure you correctly write down the names of the two presenters you plan to write letters to. Your thank you letters need to demonstrate that you were listening to the presentation. Both letters are due on Wednesday, Oct. 24 th. Letters will be collected in your TU class. For seniors – all thank you letters will be collected in your English class.
