Walking With God Genesis 5:21-24

Introduction Wonderful theme –E–Enoch and Noah (Genesis 5:22; 6:9) –L–Lived in wicked times Several factors involved –C–Cannot walk with some –M–Must be going where we are going

Agree With God His Word is the standard –Agreement necessary (Amos 3:3) –Jesus and the Father (Matthew 26:39) Not agreement with us –He is the Lawgiver (James 4:12) –Subject to His rule (Colossians 1:13)

Walk By Faith Accepted because He said it –No need for human wisdom –Baptism not explainable, but necessary –God said so (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38)

Walk By Faith Walk by faith, not sight –Drive by sight; walk by faith (Hebrews 11:6) –Trust as Paul did (Acts 27:25) –Enoch and Noah (Hebrews 11:5, 7) –Faith is the substance of our hope (Romans 8:24; Hebrews 11:1)

Walk in The Light God is light –No darkness at all (1 John 1:5-9) –Darkness symbolic of sin Brings great blessings –Cleansing for sin (1 John 1:9) –Conditional forgiveness

Please God Know better than to sin –Isn’t this often true? –Assuming we have been taught Must submit –Like Enoch (Colossians 1:9-12) –Jesus pleased the Father (John 8:29) –Not selves (Colossians 3:23; 2 Timothy 3:1)

Fear God Respect for God –Little respect for God today –Told that right and wrong situational –Noah respected God Summarizes man’s purpose –Reason for our existence (Ecclesiastes 12:13) –Search for purpose in the wrong place
