Family is central to Indian culture. Extended families live with or close by to help with daily life. Big gatherings with family are common. Weddings can often have 300+ people. Elders are shown great respect. In Hindu culture your parents are the most important people.

India 80% of India’s 1.2 Billion people are Hindu. 13% are Muslim 2% are Christian 2% are Sikh Nearly 95% are Sunni Muslim. 5% are Hindu and Christian Pakistan

Until recently India was a collection of ethnic groups who all spoke a different language, wore their clothing differently, had different foods, and cultures that were similar but yet different to one another… Today most provinces represent a separate ethnic group.
