Social Studies Chapter 6 Lesson 2

Nubia  Nubia was found south of Egypt. Today this land is called Sudan.

Weather  The weather in Nubia was harsh (not good). In the summer, it was over 100 degrees. In the winter, it was freezing.

People in Nubia  People in Nubia were talented. They raised cattle and grew crops.  They were known for being good warriors.

People in Nubia  They buried their dead in pyramids, just like the Egyptians.

 The land for farming was not as good as Egypt. They did not have a surplus of food, and had to keep hunting.  They liked to trade with Egyptians.

The end of Nubia  Egypt conquered (took over) Lower Nubia in around 2000BC.
