Presentation transcript:

 Due to a hard winter, the crops failed to be profitable. In order to raise revenue, Napoleon decided to sell the hens’ eggs. The hens’ objected to the idea denouncing it murder. The hens’ rebellion caused Napoleon to cut their rations entirely. Napoleon sent his dogs’ to end the rebellion. This resulted in nine hens’ dying; the farm animals were told the hens’ died of natural causes. Squealer announced rumors that Snowball was sabotaging the animals work. Days later, Napoleon demands knowledge of any meetings with Snowball. Once an animal confessed to conversing with Snowball the dogs immediately killed them. The incident left many animals contemplating the first rebellion from Jones and what they wanted to achieve from it. Due to this, the animal started singing Beasts of England. Napoleon demanded this song to never be sung again. He installed a new anthem for the farm, which was “Animal Farm, Animal Farm through me shalt thou come to harm.”

 How does Napoleon react when the hens’ rebel against his orders? › Napoleon stopped the hens’ rations and any animal that gave them food was punished by death. Explain why the animals confessed to being traitors. › The animals felt obligated to because they were loyal to Napoleon.

 “The were just getting their clutches ready for the spring sitting, and they protested that to take eggs away was murder. For the first time since the expulsion of Jones, there was something resembling a rebellion. – pg. 76  “They did not know which was more shocking- the treachery of the animals who had leagued themselves with snowball, or the cruel retribution they had just witnessed.”- pg  “So Beasts of England was heard no more in its place Minimus, the poet, had composed another song which began: Animal Farm, Animal Farm Never through me shalt thou come to harm!” – pg. 88
