Epic of Gilgamesh The epic of Gilgamesh is one of the earliest literary work. Scholars believe it came from early Sumerian legends.

Who? Truth is, there is no known author. But Shin-eqi-unninni is the one who is credited with writing it. Also, W.T.S. Thackara translated it.
