Standard SSWH17 F  The student will be able to identify the major political and economic factors that shaped world societies between World War I and World War II.

Element F  Explain the aggression and conflict leading to World War II in Europe and Asia; Include the Italian invasion of Ethiopia, the Spanish Civil War. The Rape of Nanjing in China, the German annexation of the Sudetenland.

Essential Question  How did the aggressions and conflicts in Europe and Asia contribute to the start of WWI?

I. Italian Invasion of Ethiopia.  Page 770-  1. What did Italy use to pursue Imperialist policies?  2. Why did Italy want to take Ethiopia in 1935?  3.
