A Virtual Learning Platform is an online system that enables teachers to share educational material with their pupils. It facilitates communication not only between teacher and pupil but also between pupils themselves. It provides free online cloud based storage space for pupils.

Locker Each student will receive a locker which is completely private and allows them to store folders and files which can then be accessed from anywhere.

Resources Every subject area has resources stored on line, these include class notes, exam questions and revision notes. Students can access these anywhere any time.

Calendar Tests and special events such as matches are recorded on the school calendar. Students get a weekly view of events that concern them. This acts as a reminder and cuts down on the “I forgot” excuse !!

Groups - Homework All students join their teachers class groups at the start of the year. Each day teachers can record the homework set for the group. This enables students who are absent to catch up on any work missed. It also allows students to ask their teachers about the work if they run into difficulties.

It also allows teachers to enhance the material covered in class, this can take the form of directing students to other websites or showing them you-tube clips

Some teachers even use this facility to allow absent students to “see” what was done in class via a link with the interactive whiteboard. Others provide screen shots of homework corrections.

Social element School Wise has the facility via social groups to allow student to communicate in a safe online environment. All conversations are monitored by administrators. Pupils are encouraged to communicate with each other, this on-line chatting facility is designed to enhance the social and learning experience of the child.
