Deploying Softswitch Network Good morning ladies and gentlemen, first of all, welcome to this presentation, this is Mr. guo from ZTE tunis, I’s my honor to present you the first part of this seminar, the topic of this presentation is Deploying softswitch network.

Agenda Our View on Network Evolution ZTE NGN Total Solution Effort & Achievement of ZTE In this presentation, I will present four subtopics, Fist of our, I would like to show you our viewpoint on the network evolution, Then, it comes the ZTE ngn total soltution Third of the sub topic is the effort and achievement of ZTE in NGN and softswitch field Finally, I would like to show you the roadmap .

Operator Concerns on Network Customers, especially business, are demanding new services including data, voice and video Offering complete services in a simpler manner Competitors are building cheaper and better networks with new Technology NGN operators introducing innovative services which are impacting on revenue streams Need to cut OPEX costs to be more competitive Fast time-to-market … Now let’s start it from the first part. This slide shows several major concerns of operators when they are considering the expansion and optimization of the network: First, the end users are demanding an integrated service solution including the data, voice and video, the age of pure voice service has gone. operators is seeking a simple way to offer such kind of complete services in order to low down and expenses and simplify the network structure. Meanwhile, more and more groups are interested in investing in the operation of telecom, for these new operators , it easier to satisfy the customers requriement based on new technology, Based on new network architechure, NGN operators are introducing innovative services which are impacting on revenue streams. Cut down the opex and fast time to market is more and more important to operators also because of the high competition.

Multiservices->Complexity As what we have known on the previous slide, operators are obliged to provide multiservice. End users don’t care how you provide, but operators do care of that. If operators want to serve new services based on traditional network dedicated only to voice service, one of the problem is the complexity. at frist, only telephone swtich needed for the pure voice service, the network is simple and clear

Multiservices->Complexity(2) Then, group users were demanding PBX service, new routings are needed

Multiservices->Complexity(3) Then data services are demanded, routers, switch are installed overlapping on the old network

Multiservices->Complexity(4) Once a new service is demanding, some new devices will overlap on the existing network again and again and again….

What We End Up With Multiservices? Finally, the netwok becomes nothing but a plate of noodles, for me, noodle is decious, but for operators it’s absolutely a nightmare. high opex, difficult to maintain

Advantages are in Access Integration; Service Creation; Network Management; Networking VoIP Technology Evolution Phase I: VoIP based on H.323 It made a critical contribution in the early adoption of VoIP and has the largest installation base by far Design Defects Complex; hard to interoperate between different vendors Did not take service creation into account Cannot meet the demand of NGN Phase II: VoIP based on Softswitch networking Layered and open architecture Advantage in Access Integration; Service Creation; Network Management; Networking Migration to NGN Provide Integrated Service of Voice, Data and Multimedia Packet Switch Network Layered and Open Architecture Service driven

This procedure solves the complex routing problem of PSTN and transfers calls from PSTN to packet switch network to share the load of PSTN, First step: using NetuneTM – Softswitch to replace PSTN’s long-distance office and tend office. To solve complexity of router searching in PSTN’, on the other hand to transform the call from PSTN into packet network transparently, reducing PSTN’s load, meeting the need of the tendency from PSTN to packet network, providing subscriber with multi-service. Second step: NetuneTM – Softswitch replaces end office, accessing subscriber into packet network, and providing subscriber with various local service, completing the full amalgamation of PSTN and packet network.
