If you hold down the shift key before using the resize handles, you will maintain the proportions of the object you wish to resize.

Success in the landscape: Full sun (six or more hours of direct sun per day) in most cases Extremely well-drained soil Moderate, not high, soil fertility Frequent trimming/cutting back [See Table for list and propagation methods]

Container Gardens in the landscape: Utilize small spaces –windowsills –patios –city balcony –doorstep –stairs

Containers: Anything goes! –Teapots –tool boxes –cinder blocks –fruit baskets –conventional clay or plastic pots

Successful containers: Drain well –Pot has holes in the bottom Promote aeration –Use light soil mix Don’t tip over –Place sand in bottom of pot to anchor it

Success in the landscape: Proper sun exposure Proper planting techniques –Maintain same planting depth Proper watering –Water until excess comes out bottom of pot –Dump excess water from container’s bottom tray/saucer –Containers on pavement dry out fast
