2 OUTLINE Intro Problem Assumptions Proposed Solution Results Video Conclusion

3 INTRODUCTION This project started with a desire to learn. Heard about the Raspberry Pi, and continued to follow the various builds. In all but the most pre-built projects, it all started in the same place.

RESEARCH Thus began the hunt for the smallest peripherals. To find components, I searched several different places. I looked for those willing to help someone just starting out. 4

5 PROBLEM STATEMENT Creating a productive and portable learning environment that supported the Python programming language. Create an adaptable platform that can be applied to future problems.

6 ASSUMPTIONS Limited knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols. Limited knowledge and skill with dealing with the installation of operating systems

7 PROPOSED SOLUTION Brainstorming Variations of case design. Different configuration of components. Different applications. Consiousness of scope creep.

PROPOSED SOLUTION Solution Components chosen for low power requirements and size. Minimal amount of comfort. The goal was a compact design with a maximum battery life. 8

SOFTWARE/HARDWARE Different OS and applications considered. Gaming system Security Penetration Assembly Due to early planning and careful acquisition of proper components, was the easiest part. Discovered that 12V batteries can damage 5V components. 9

10 RESULTS Compact, functional Raspberry Pi based system. Verified functionality for at least 6 hours Surprisingly high resolution on the screen

LearnBot: An Evolving Platform for Raspberry Pi

12 CONCLUSIONS This project is a compact, inexpensive, and reliable build. Provides an isolatable environment, ideal for learning in a safe environment.

13 FUTURE WORK The initial design is rough. Future work will be on a nicer looking case with improved design characteristics. Addition of powered USB hub and compact WiFi adapter will add functionality.
