The 7 Habits WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR THE BETTER
Time to read about the Habits in more detail! You now have a basic understanding of what the 7 Habits are. You understand and can explain what a Paradigm is. You understand and can explain what a Paradigm Shift is. You understand and can state what Principles are. Now I want you to get a better understanding of exactly what the 7 Habits are and how you can use them to improve your life. Together with a peer, or by yourself, read pages 21 – 31 of Six Important Decisions. As you read, ask each other or yourself how can you use this information in your personal life to build the principles you life by and determine if your paradigms need to experience a paradigm shift. If you do need to work on things, how are you going to do this? You will be using this information in a future project so it is IMPORTANT you ‘internalize’ the information you will get from reading the pages in this book as well as your conversations with one another. ASK questions if you don’t understand!!! BE PROACTIVE with your education and life! If you don’t understand what you’re reading now, it wont be able to help you later!!
Habit 2 Begin With The End In Mind Developing your own Mission Statement Assignment 1 Every one of you needs a Road Map for your life. Why would you waste time, effort, money, ect and not have one? For this assignment, YOU will be developing your own MISSION STATEMENT. With a peer (Synthesize) log onto Work through the packet, following the directions given. Some of the work will be done together, some will be independent. Over the next week you will complete all assignment both online and off line. This assignment is work 24 points. The rubric is the last page of the packet. Follow the directions carefully!
Now…..your 2 nd (and last) assignment for this unit! You will be creating your own 7 Habit tree diagram. Follow the given Rubric carefully. This assignment is worth 24 points Create your tree on construction paper. You may make the tree by drawing and coloring, using construction paper, a combination of both….your choice! Make it look like the diagram on page 20 of Six Most Important Decisions List the 7 Habits by number in the same way they are listed on the diagram in the book, starting with Habit 1 in the roots and then building as you go up, with Habit 7 on top. In the center of the tree (the ‘life’ of the tree), list what each of the Habit numbers are. NOW under each of the Habit titles, you will list WHAT you will be working on in each of the Habit areas. Think about your mission statement and where you’re going EXAMPLE: ‘Be Proactive’ When I don’t understand a concept in class, I’ll be Proactive and ask the teacher to explain till I do understand rather than not say anything and continue to get farther behind. ‘Begin With the End In Mind’ When I think about things I do, I’ll ask myself, will this help get me to where I want to be ten years from now and will this help me be successful and meet my goals in life?
