ETHERNET

DIFFERENT SYSTEMS ENET only HD/ZIP –Advanced TCP (Optional settings) Allows for password protection of Hard Drive Allows longer names Map Hard Drive USB/HD –Advanced TCP Standard

This is the old Settings page for the ENET. Note that with the Hard Drive and SW version 13.1, setting 133 is not used for turning on the Network/Hard Drive. Instead you use Parameter 57 bit 6.

There is also an Advanced TCP Screen (with 13.1). This is accessed by selecting ADV TCP in setting 135. It allows the use of names up to 40 characters long (for CNC, Server name, and User name). You can configure for networks that assign IP addresses (Disable DHCP: OFF). You can also see the password on this screen. It is recommended that you not change these settings unless necessary. Change Setting H to return to the other screen.

DOMAIN/WORK HOST NAME This is the ADV TCP page for the ENET/USB option. There is no Setting 134 page. If you enter 134 and arrow down, you will see this page. You can also enter ‘A’ and arrow down. Note on this page it says “ENABLE DHCP”. You cannot make changes to this page with E-STOP activated. With SW Par 57 bit 6 was no longer used to switch on the HD/ENET DNS/SHCP

GATHERING INFORMATION CNC Name: Setting A Enable (Disable on non-USB) DHCP: Setting B TCP / IP: Setting C (140) Subnet Mask: Setting D (141) Gateway: Setting E DNS/DHCP: Setting F Domain/Work: Setting H Host (Server) Name: Setting J (136) Path: Setting K (139) Username: Setting L (137) Password: Setting M (138)

TCP ADDRESS (C) Used on a Microsoft TCP/IP LAN Must be a unique TCP/IP address

SUBNET MASK (D) This is a Subnet Mask for the network Normally GATEWAY (E) This is the IP Address for the network gateway. For connecting to a Laptop, this is the IP address of the Laptop.

DNS/DHCP (F) This is the IP Address of the DNS Server For connecting to a Laptop it should be left blank

DOMAIN/WORK (H) This is the name of the Domain (Network) or Workgroup (for Laptop connection, leave blank) DOMAIN (G) The DOMAIN name (if applicable) On Hard Drives without USB

HOST (Server) NAME (J) The Server or a Computer on the network. PATH (K) Shared folder name on the Server or Computer with the program files. Example - HAAS Must provide read and write access to USER.

USERNAME (L) Established by a Network Administrator. PASSWORD (M) Established and set by a Network Administrator. Must not expire

With a Hard Drive, you will see the new Device Manager Screen instead of the list of programs. Note that there are two windows. On the left is the Device window and on the right is the Directory window. The Right and Left Arrow keys switch from one to the other. DEVICE MANAGER

Note that the SOURCE must indicate the file name and Device that you wish to copy from and the DESTINATION needs to indicate the device you wish to copy to. MEMORY O12345 HARD DRIVE

FNC is like DNC. It allows you to run a program directly from the Network or Hard Drive PRESS To run a program in DNC. Then PRESS. FNC

Example of settings for connecting laptop to control

You can map the CNC Hard Drive from any computer on the network. This allows network users to easily access the CNC Hard Drive from their computer. Once mapped, it is easy to “Drag and Drop” files into the Hard Drive. The files do not have to be located in the shared folder shown in Setting K. To transfer a file from the Control to the network (using Device Manager), you must still use the shared folder. The following screens will explain how to map the control to your computer. MAPPING

MAPPING HARD DRIVE This is the menu you get in Windows 2000/XP. DATA is the name of the directory on the Haas Hard Drive. You will need to be logged into your computer with the same user name and password as the Control. \\VF1\DATA

Right Click to search

The search may take several minutes.

From Local Area Connections, select “Advanced” FIREWALL

Next Click on “Settings”

If you are unable to turn off the Firewall, or would just rather not bother turning it on and off, make sure this block is not checked.

Also make sure that “File and Print Sharing” is checked.

DOS COMMANDS PING IPCONFIG /ALL

RESETTING YOUR LAPTOP To get on the Internet with your laptop, you will probably need to reset your IP address to “Obtain an IP address automatically. You should not have to make any other changes ( unless you had to turn off your Firewall).

Restore Settings Go into Debug Go to POS – LL DEBUG Type “CB AE03FF 72” Press twice Wait a minute Reset power
