Soldier Boys by Dean Hughes

Plot The story is about to young men who are in opposite armies in WW2. The story revolves around the battle the two end up fighting against each other in. The two actually meet in the battle and in the end on does not make it.

Details Dieter is a young member of Hitler youth at fifteen who gets drafted into a Panzer regiment. Spence is a country boy who joins the paratroopers with his fathers permission. The battle they end up in is the battle of the bulge at bastogne.

Story Resolution Dieter is shot and ends up wounded on the American hill. Spence goes out to rescue him and is shot by German medics Spence dies and is shipped home to his small town.
