Sector Support Service Formerly called the Improvement Advisor Service Has had over 600 referrals over the last four years (This includes IAS which had a wider remit) Over 80% of the service is delivered by the sector Is a fully subsidised service for providers in receipt of a Notice to Improve or a grade 4 Ofsted judgement Produces significant improvements in provider performance Helps the provider to improve its own capacity to improve Receives high levels of satisfaction from its users

How does it work? Providers apply for the service Initial scoping exercise Case Conference Completion of a Memorandum of Support Details the exact nature of the support The time span for completion of support Outcomes are defined by the provider Reviews are systematic Urgent cases can be accommodated

What services are accessed? Specialist Advisors and High Quality Managers Leadership and management Finance Data Teaching and learning Quality Language, Literacy and Numeracy Beacon Providers Lead providers

Organisational Health Checks - OHC What does it involve? Fitness for purpose check / Diagnostic tool Consideration of the CIF and other strategic issues Providers that are two years from their last inspection are eligible Conducted over two days SWOT report produced at the end of the process First year of the service has resulted in very positive feedback

Advisors and High Quality Managers Composed mostly of practitioners working in the sector Assistance with creation and implementation of improvement strategies Guidance, support and development of the use of data Sharing of practice Development of quality processes particularly around the creation and use of the Self Assessment Report Mentoring support to senior and middle managers
