Nervous System By Professor Amro (Not Qualified)

The Nervous System The network on Nerve cell that send impulses between the parts of the body.

The Main Function of the Nervous System 1.Sensory System-It is responsible for producing sensory information 2.Integration System- Combines information from many different sources for Example:hearing, sight, touch etc. The brain also combines information from other parts of the brain. 3.Motor system- it's apart of the CNS which is involved in movement of the body 4.Communicative System-Controls Movement

The Brain The Brain is the big boss of your body the biggest part is the Cerebrum and the Brain is the centre of the nervous activity.

Spinal Cord A long Thin Cord that is made of Nervous tissues and supports cells the Brain and Spinal cord make up the CNS (Central Nervous system)

Nerves They are like enclosed cables that a made up of Axons that transmit impulses to the body. (Nerve Fibers)

2 Main systems PNS:Somatic and Autonomic CNS:The Brain and Spinal Cord

Nerve Cell The Nerve cell is electrically excitable cell that process and transmit information through chemical signals they have specialized connections with other cells the core components are the brain and spinal cord.

Interesting Facts 1.An adults Brain is 3 times as heavy as a newborn babies 2.A male Brain is 100 grams more than a female 3.Nerve cells are able to transmit impulses at the speed of 100 meters per second
