Operation Ambassador The future of your country depends upon you!

Operation Ambassador  Your country has recently gained it’s independence from the previous unlimited government. The people and leaders of the successful revolution have decided together that the new government will be a limited government. Due to the previous governments totalitarian reign, the countries of North America have not extended diplomatic relations to your country. However, now that your government has made a commitment to a limited government and because the people now have the power, the North American countries have indicated a willingness to support your new country through diplomatic relations.  The leader of your new country has consider thousands of experts to help decide which country to pursue diplomatic relationships. You must submit a detailed dossier using only the following North American countries, United States of America, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Your dossier must specify the following:  The natural resources of each North American country mentioned above, must be rated in numerical format with the number one (1) indicating the country with the most valuable resources and the number four (4) indicating the country with the least natural resources. In addition to the numerical listing, your group must explain which natural resources will be most beneficial to your new country and why.  The system of government for each North American country mentioned above, must be rated in numerical format with the number one (1) indicating the country with the most comparable system of government and the number four (4) indicating the country with the least comparable system of government. In addition to the numerical listing, your group must explain which system of government will be most comparable and beneficial to your new country and why.  The economy of each North American country mentioned above, must be rated in numerical format with the number one (1) indicating the country with the most robust economy and the number four (4) indicating the country with the least natural resources. In addition to the numerical listing, your group must explain which country’s economy will be most beneficial to your new country and why. This dossier point must include a discussion about what drives each countries economy and whether those driving factors will remain the consistent over at least the next one-hundred years (100).  The geography of each North American country mentioned above, must be rated in numerical format with the number one (1) indicating the country with the most favorable geographic conditions, as related to trade, tourism, etc. The number four (4) will indicate the country with the least favorable geographic conditions. In addition to the numerical listing, your group must explain which geographical conditions will be most beneficial to your new country and why.

Operation Ambassador  Dossier Requirements and Inclusions: Your dossier must include all important and essential information to assist your country's leader in determining which North American countries to pursue diplomatic relations. Your discussion should synthesize the data and academic information garnered from your research. The dossier must recommend a course of action and explain how, why and which country to pursue first and why. Each recommendation must be supported with historical, political, geographic and cultural data. Consider using data from the textbook data files on pages & Another resource to consider is the CIA – The World Fact book, Also, be sure to include information learned from your classroom discussions, and studies.

Operation Ambassador You will be graded on individual and group execution of the directions and rubric. Each group member will be responsible for a different area of research. For instance, one person will research the culture, another, the system of government, while different individuals will research the geography and the economy of the various countries. Your individual grade will be comprised of your documented research and contributions to the group. A group grade will be earned through the dossier instructions and rubric as well as the presentation rubric in the following slides.
