Outline of this presentation:- Need of new technology. Zigbee. A brief comparison with other existing technologies. Applications. Smart Home Automation :-Architecture and implementation in our day to day life.

System Architecture

Home Gateway Consists of Wi-Fi module, ZigBee Microcontroller and power supply Primary Function - Data translation services between the internet, Wi-Fi and ZigBee networks. Real time control and monitoring of devices using device database Flexible control modes

ZDO:- ◦ Genric Devices  On/Off Switch  Level Control Switch ◦ Range Extender-Router. ◦ Remote Control. ◦ Lighting Devices.  On/Off Light  Occupancy Sensing Cluster Support  Dimmable Light ◦ Closure Device-Shade. ◦ Heating Cooling Devices.

System Initialization/ implementation Network initialization phase ▫ Scans all available radio channels ▫ Assign MAC address for all devices in the network Wi-Fi connection through DSL modem router Home Gateway connects with ZigBee and Wi-Fi network Input to Home Gateway can be either from Wi-Fi or ZigBee network

Continued…. Startup Attributes Set :-Interoperability. Join perameters as Scan attempt,Time between scans,Rejoin Interval,Max.Rejoin Interval. End Device perameters :-Indirect poll rate. Cluster and commissioning.

Conclusion Identified the problems of existing home automation systems Solved the problem of network interoperability A low cost,flexible and secure system is proposed
