Thames Valley Strategic Clinical Network Head and Neck Cancer Around 10,000 new cases annually in UK by CRUK data 2013 Currently new cases in Thames Valley per year Approximately 3% of cancer numbers by incidence in TV, stable proportion

Thames Valley Strategic Clinical Network Experiencing cancer Common Frequently ‘invisible’ Patients and families buoyed up by being able to continue ‘normal life’ Why is this not the case for many with H&N cancer? What are appropriate ‘outcomes’ of quality for H&N cancer?

Thames Valley Strategic Clinical Network Thames Valley Head & Neck Cancer Scoping Project “Thames Valley Cancer Strategic Clinical Network in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and Central Southern Commissioning Support undertook a one year project across Thames Valley to scope rehabilitation support services available to patients diagnosed with head and neck cancer (HNC) in long term survivorship. The project’s aim was to identify and understand key areas within the rehabilitation support services where the support and care for HNC patients is being unmet and could be enhanced.”
