 A noun is a person, place, thing, or idea.  Nouns are the subject of a sentence. Rina is a pro-golfer. The bakery has fresh baked goods. The cat was lonely for me. Love is a beautiful thing.

 We celebrated my birthday with a great, big, chocolate cake.  I ran the 5k race in town last week.  The cherries were very tasty.  I played basketball in gym class today.

 Proper Noun- A noun that names a specific person, place or thing.

 I went to Golden Screen Cinemas to watch the movie Lord of the Ring.  Malacca State Library has many good books to choose from.  Shopping at the Mahkota Parade can be hectic during the holidays.
