International Rescue Committee (IRC)  The IRC responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises.  It was founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein.  The IRC specializes in providing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war and disaster.  Currently, this aid group helps people in Africa, Asia, The Caribbean, Central America, South America, Caucasus, Middle East, UK and Europe.  Some of the crises that they assisted in were the earthquake in Haiti, and the Syrian crisis.  IRC At A Glance IRC At A Glance United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)  The UNHCR was mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide.  It was established on December 14, 1950 by the United Nations General Assembly.  Since the UNCHR specializes mostly in refugees, they help all different refugees.  At this time, this aid group assists people in Africa, North America, Caribbean, South American, Latin America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and North Africa.

Refugees International (RI)  Refugees International advocates for lifesaving assistance and protection for displaced people and promotes solutions to displacement crises.  In 1979, Sue Morton witnessed thousands of Cambodian refugees forced back across the Thai border. She then decides to make Refugees International.  Some of the current focuses that Refugees International has is South Sudan, Afghanistan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. American Refugee Committee (ARC)  ARC works with its partner and constituencies to provide opportunities and expertise to refugees, displaced people and host communities.  It specializes in helping victims of war and civil conflict rebuild their lives.  The places that ARC works at are Haiti, Liberia, Pakistan, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Sudan-Darfur, Thailand, and Uganda.  Specific projects that ARC has helped with are the Haiti earthquake, Pakistan earthquake, Tsunami relief in Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia, and Hurricane Katrina.
