Of Plymouth Plantation “Their Safe Arrival at Cape Cod” By: Caitlin Bachman & Shayna Abbott

Introduction The section we had was about the pilgrims arriving at Cape Cod after a long ride on the Mayflower. Many people didn’t survive the ride in. The people who did survive had a hard time adapting to life at Cape Cod.

“ After a long beating at sea they fell with that land which is called Cape Cod;”

“They had now no friends to welcome them nor inns to entertain or refresh their weather beaten bodies;”

“ If they looked behind them there was the mighty ocean which they had passed and was now as a bar and gulf to separate them from all the civil parts of the world…”

Conclusion The pilgrims who made it safely to Cape Cod knew they couldn’t go anywhere. They were trapped by the ocean so they had to adapt and make a whole new life for themselves in Cape Cod.
