A CASE OF DYSLEXIA By Dr. Jawahar Shah M.D.(Hom)

Master A.K. Mother said that he has the main complaint of forgetfulness slow in academics.

Otherwise active, reasonable and intelligent. Spells words verbally but while writing or pronouncing makes mistakes. Confuses his cousins with his aunts. Doesn't differentiate colours, alphabets.

Very slow at learning alphabets and colours. Remembers songs, stories but forgets old things. Speaks too fast, jumps words.

Birth/ Weight: 8/lbs, normal delivery walking 1 year talking 2 years teething 8 months. Birth history & milestones:

Mother had two daughters, wanted a son. So Amniocentesis was done.

Restlessness +, Very active, affectionate, not friendly. Anger suppresses.

Scared of school, Scared of new teachers, lack of confidence, doesn't like to go alone.

Fond of sports and good at it. mixes with people and depends on moods. Generally likes to be alone.

The patient is scared of mother. Shares his things, good relationship with sister scared of dark.

Shy+ when told to greet people, hides behind the curtains.
