Fletching Parish Action Plan

Introduction Questionnaire sent out to all parish households last summer Over 30% of households responded No particular burning issues

What did people like about living in the parish? beautiful countryside, Fletching’s picturesque High Street, the great village shop, pubs and church great neighbours, community spirit; and general peace and quiet.

What did people not like? Parking is an issue in Fletching village In the parish as a whole, there are concerns about speeding, cyclists, litter, hedge maintenance and road maintenance Improvements are wanted in broadband speed, public transport and the village hall Street lighting is not wanted in any part of the parish

What have we done Created a Parish Action Plan Issued a note to all parishioners advising they could access this online Produced a useful list of contacts for reporting issues e.g. potholes Published regular updates online and in the parish magazine Started publicising local job vacancies

Steering group We have created a steering group comprising: Gabriella Bullock Debra Hayes Sally Jeffery Mike McGowan Sam Sainsbury Nicola Schulz Hannah Sherriffs Katherine Rumble Always looking for volunteers either to be on steering group or on focus groups!!

What are we working on? Encouraging dog owners to pick up dog waste in public areas e.g. burial ground, recreation ground, golf course Raising awareness of the risks associated with dog waste Explaining the role of Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) and how to contact them

What are we working on? Aiming to reduce speeding and improve road safety in the parish Exploring options for additional parking Encouraging local support for all local businesses/farms Looking at holding an annual community event Exploring the future for our community facilities
