Mr. Beary  Graduate of Queens University of Charlotte.  Dual-certified in Secondary English and Middle Grades Language Arts.  Currently seeking MA in English.  Other: Shakespeare Recitation, Cultural Competency, Fine Arts Council, Model United Nations(?), Debate Team(?)

Why Are Your Kids Here  No one “signs up” for Speech and Debate or Journalism.  Students are hand-selected based on academic capabilities.  If they take one, they’ll likely take the other.  Another one may be added.

Speech and Debate  Speech and Debate is the study and practice of forensics, the art of public speaking and debating.  This class is a hybrid of speaking, writing, reading, and performing.  The skills gained from this class will benefit your student in every aspect of their academic and professional lives.  Currently: Original Oratories

Journalism  Journalism is the study and practice of news writing and reporting.  This class publishes an online newspaper at thejmrcharger.com.  This is a writing intensive course for self- motivated students.  Currently: First articles.
