Passive Review  In a sentence using passive voice, the subject does not do the action, the action is done to the subject. The agent performing the action may appear or may be omitted.  Active: John threw the ball.  Passive: The ball was thrown by John.

Why do we use passive voice?  The pyramids were built 1000’s of years ago.  The Olympics were held in Beijing.  Buddism has been practiced in India for centuries.  The proverb was written during the Tang Dynasty.  He was hit by a car.  The movie was filmed in Canada.
