What is FOST? The Forest Oaks Swim Team or “FOST” is a competitive swim team organized to “FOSTer” the abilities, skills, and sportsmanship of youth swimmers in a fun and team spirited environment. FOST is a parent run summer league swim team which is dependant upon parent volunteers to organize the team and work swim meets. FOST can register swimmers from Enchanted Oaks, Cypress Forest Estates, Oaks of Devonshire, Woods of Devonshire, and any subdivision that does not have an NWAL team, or any other subdivision where you must pay a private club membership fee in order to swim on their team. FOST is safety conscious and requires swimmers to be confident in the water and able to swim 25 meters without assistance. New swimmers are allowed 2 weeks to demonstrate this skill. Who is FOST? When is FOST? Registration dates are: March 23 rd and April 13 th 2014 from 2:00- 5:00 pm Can’t make registration? Contact the Registrar at Practices and Meets are held during May and June Where is FOST? Where to get swim stuff… Although Team Suits are not mandatory, you are encouraged to wear one and show your FOST team spirit. Our official Team outfitter: FOST has a Team Website that is actively maintained during the summer league season to keep swimmers and their families informed. Barracudas FOST “Barracudas”:  A competitive Summer League Swim Team for novice swimmers, 1 of 99 teams in NWAL  A team of enthusiastic swimmers who are fun, positive and promote TEAM SPIRIT  An Opportunity to improve fitness and swimming skills.  Affordable; 1-time registration & pool user fee  A swim program that requires no previous experience, though swimmers must feel confident in the water  Offers a 2-week Mini-barracudas program to get new swimmers up to speed  Does NOT provide swim lessons, but DOES aim to improve swimmer’s existing skills and endurance through practice and stroke and turn training  Practice Mon-Fri during May & June, weather permitting, except Holidays  Competes in about 7 meets each Saturday, during May & June  Must have parent participation from every family and encourages family participation in all Team Activities  Is a nonprofit organization.
