SDN for Federal Agencies ● OSTP tasked the Federal agencies to develop a strategic plan for Software Defined Networking (SDN) ● NITRD/LSN sponsored an SDN program review December 15 and 16 ○ Participation by over 60 people representing several agencies, networks, universities, and exchange points ● Report is being drafted now, final due the end of March ○ Emphasis on use cases and SDN eXchanges (SDXs) ● Agencies are in different phases of adoption ○ NSF solicitations (SDX) ○ ESnet test bed activities ○ OSCARS circuits ○ GENI ○ DoD trials
