Taskforce Highlights Pathways to Biliteracy in Elementary Education Taskforce Comprised of 28 members: principals, teachers, parents, and community Convened five meetings (September 2015 - December 2015)  Proffered seventeen recommendations New Instructional Materials Ordered Implement the revamped elementary world language program (Fall 2016)

2016-2017 Bilingual Allocations and their Intended Use Program 6600 – ESOL Resource for Levels 1 and 2 (push-in/pull-out) Program 6601 – ESOL Self-Contained for Levels 1 and 2 (Homeroom Teacher) Program 6610 – Revamped World Language for non-ESOL grades 2-5 Program 6630 – Curriculum Content/Home Language (CCHL) for ESOL Levels 1 and 2 less than two years (Mathematics, Science, Social Studies) and for ELL students in grades K-5 in Spanish Program 6640 - Curriculum Content/Home Language (CCHL) for ESOL Levels 1 and 2 less than two years (Mathematics, Science, Social Studies) and for ELL students in grades K-5 in Haitian-Creole

Delivery Models for Program 6630/6640 Pull-out services for the entire instructional block and teacher provides grade Push-in services for a portion of the instructional block If classroom teacher (6010/6601) is linguistically qualified, CCHL (Mathematics, Science, Social Studies) support may be provided by the classroom teacher.

How are Bilingual Allocations Generated? Program 6600 – 1:50-399; schools with less than 50 an itinerant ESOL services will be provided Program 6601 – K-3 (1:19) 4-5 (1:23) and deducted from basic allocation Program 6610 – 1:250 non-ESOL Program 6630 – 1:140 for ELL students (Spanish) Program 6640 – 1:140 for ELL students (Haitian- Creole)

Interventions for English Language Learners ESOL Levels 1-2 with less than two years receive intervention through Spanish/Haitian-Creole All other ESOL students who need intervention will receive WonderWorks ELL good cause promotion students placement in IA grade 4 is determined on an individual basis.
