CONSTANT CAVITIES? PRODUCTS TO HELP YOU PREVENT THEM 4 by Dr. Kwon

FLUORIDATED TOOTHPASTE Dr. Kwon Studies show that fluoride improves the strength of a tooth’s enamel. However, most adults would not get enough fluoride from their normal dietary and hygiene habits. Therefore, fluoridated toothpaste should be one of the first purchases that cavity-prone people make from the dental aisle of their pharmacy or grocery store.

XYLITOL GUMS AND MINTS Dr. Kwon When these snacks are sweetened with Xylitol, they become a strong preventative measure in the fight against cavities. This is due to the effect that Xylitol has on the bacteria which causes tooth enamel breakdown. These alternatives to traditional gum and mints can be easily purchased online, or from many pharmacies.

PROFESSIONAL SEALANTS Dr. Kwon Sealants on teeth can help protect enamel from decay. While this process must be performed by a licensed dental professional, the investment of time and money is more than worth the cost. This is particularly true for children who recently gained their permanent molars, or for adults who have yet to show signs of decay

ELECTRICAL TOOTHBRUSHES Dr. Kwon Many adults either use improper technique when brushing, or do not spend sufficient amounts of time on the process. An electric toothbrush can dramatically increase the effectiveness of a brushing session.
