 A sudden interruption in the heart’s blood supply because of a blockage in the coronary arteries (the vessels that carry blood to the heart muscle)

 Symptoms : Pain/pressure in chest Discomfort spreading to the back, jaw, throat, or arm Nausea, indigestion or heartburn Weakness, anxiety or shortness of breath Rapid or irregular heartbeats

 Leading Causes : age, male gender, diabetes, family history, high blood pressure, smoking, too much fat in diet, unhealthy cholesterol levels, stress or illness, obesity, physical inactivity  Heart Healthy Foods : salmon, oatmeal, black/kidney beans, almonds, walnuts, tuna, blueberries, carrots, spinach, broccoli, oranges, tomatoes

 A condition where a blood clot, ruptured artery or blood vessel interrupts blood flow to an area of the brain. A lack of oxygen and glucose (sugar) flowing to the brain leads to the death of brain cells and brain damage.

 Symptoms: Weakness/paralysis of one side of the body with partial or complete loss of voluntary movement Speech problems Numbness Tingling Dizziness or loss of balance Sudden severe headache

 Leading Causes : blood clot caused by hardening of artery, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, family history, smoking, diabetes, obesity, heavy drug/alcohol use  Preventing Strokes : knowing/controlling your blood pressure, not smoking, following healthy diet, exercising regularly, manage stress, keep drinking to minimum, don’t use drugs, watch cholesterol

 A sudden and often unexpected stoppage of effective heart action-the heart essential stops functioning.

 Symptoms : Anxiety Palpitations Chest pain Shortness of breath Dizziness Fainting Weak pulse Vomiting Bluish grey color of skin

 Leading Causes: coronary heart disease, heart attack, respiratory arrest, drowning, choking, trauma  Preventing Cardiac Arrest: eat heart- healthy, lower cholesterol, exercise, control blood pressure, lose weigh, don’t smoke, manage stress, avoid or control diabetes.

 A sudden disruption of the brain’s normal electrical activity accompanied by altered consciousness and/or other neurological and behavioral manifestations.

 Symptoms or warning signs : Blackout Déjà vu Blurriness or vision loss Racing thoughts Weird stomach sensations Tingling Fear Headache Lightheadedness Numbness Nausea

 Leading Causes : fever, high or low blood sugar, epilepsy, tumor, injury, electrolyte imbalance, and drug withdrawal.  Seizures-Occur Seizures-Occur
