The First Thanksgiving The first Thanksgiving was proclaimed by William Bradford. Bradford was the governor of the pilgrims. He was a member of the Separatist church. He established the laws in the colony.
The First Thanksgiving Feast On November 29th 1621 the Indians and the Pilgrims organized a banquet to celebrate thanksgiving. The women and the children didn’t eat with the Indians. They ate pumpkins, turkey, corn and cheese.
Thanksgiving Day The Pilgrims went to church and prayed. The Indians gave food and corn to the Pilgrims.
On the 28th of September 1863, Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving a national day.
