Ra/Re Egyptian sun god Known and the god of all Egyptian gods, Ra or Re as he is known is the Sun God to all of the Egyptians. The ancient Egyptians believed that Ra was born in the morning rising for the east marking a new day and setting in the west taking the souls of the dead to the afterlife. Ra or Re as he is called has the body of a human and the head of a falcon wearing the sun disk crown.

Djoser's Step Pyramid at Saqqara 2630 B.C. Zoser or Djoser was the first pharaoh of Egypt. His pyramid was the first of its kind and created out of limestone blocks. It was originally a Mastaba, or ancient religious temple, but during its creation the religious figure known as Imhotep the architects of the this pyramid added five more steps as symbol to rise to the afterlife or with Ra the god of the Sun. When completed the Step Pyramid of Djoser stands 204 feet tall, and his burial tomb was cut out of limestone rock just underneath the pyramid Imhotep was so revered that he became a living god after its completion.

Menmaatre Seti I, Pharaoh of Egypt B.C Pharaoh Seti I was a pharaoh of Egypt with his wife, Tuya. He is the father to the pharaoh that is knows as the builder of Egypt Rameses II (also known as Ramses the Great). Seti I is also the adoptive father of Moses.TuyaRameses IIMoses To fulfill a prophesy Seti I was responsible for the killing the first born Jew male to prevent his Jewish slaves from gaining their freedom. The Lifeline of Egypt. The Nile River Know as the lifeline of Egypt, the Nile River is Egypt only source of fresh water. Its source starts in Lake Victoria in central Africa, between the countries of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. At the beginning of the river it is dangerous and deadly, but the further it goes north to the Mediterranean Sea it become morose and wide and slow. The Nile River is the longest river in the world spanning 4258 miles long emptying into the Mediterranean Sea

Egyptian Hieroglyphics Egyptian Hieroglyphics is one of the oldest known writing in the ancient world. Known as Holy writing there were only a few special people who could actually read and write this ancient script. In 1799 Napoleon and his army while tearing down Egyptian buildings in the city of Rosetta, discover an important stone that uncovered the 2000 year old secret to this ancient method of writing. A man by the name of Jean Champollion using this stone called the Rosetta Stone, learned to read this lost language.

Egyptian Social Pyramid The ancient Egyptians were divided into groups of people who were responsible for different jobs and responsibilities in their society. This was accomplished by creating what is known as social classes as a pyramid with six levels. Based on ones importance in life determined what level you were on this pyramid and your importance. importance. This highest lever was of course the Pharaoh or king, and government officials. These individuals were the most wealthy and powerful. At the bottom level, were the peasants. These people were the largest of the social class. They were the workers that made Egypt what is was for they were farmers and builders.
